Yogiraj Bikram Chowdhury was born in Calcutta in 1946 where he began to practice yoga when he was just four years old under the instruction of Bishnu Ghosh, brother of Paramahansa Yogaganda (author of “Autobiography of a Yogi ” ) . Gosh , famous bodybuilder , was the first to scientifically determine the ability to cure chronic pain and heal the body with Yoga . Bikram shares and teaches his method worldwide for over 35 years .

Please, arrive 20 minutes before your first lesson and bring with:
• Water (you can buy it in the studio)
• Large towel (you can rent it in the studio)
And remember to avoid eating at least 2 hours before class, keep you hydrated during the day drinking water and wear light clothing.
If you practice yoga for the first time, it is important to be patient with yourself. It’s important to want to improve, but at the same time know that the yoga practice is a “journey” that will go through at your own pace.
The thermal therapy, which uses of the power of the heat, is known and used as a valid therapeutic tool. The yoga room is heated to protect the muscles and allow stretching deeper and safely in less time, so you can see results in less time. The heat prevents injuries during stretching, it helps in the treatment of previous injuries and it’s effective in the prevention of new contractions making us more flexible. In addition to this the heat increases the heart rate by promoting a better cardiovascular exercise, help to improve the resistance improving muscle tone and softening the collagen around the joint, thus increasing the freedom of movement. Yoga not only works the muscles, during practice massages the deeper tissues, glands and internal organs. As you work more and more intensely and deeply you will begin to release toxins and “poisons” that has been for ever in your body, and sweating you will get rid of them.
Breathing exercises which starts the lesson, along with the warmth of the room, begin to warm up the body from the inside out. Metabolism speeds up, preparing the “system” to work. Yoga uses the effect tourniquets, during the postures occurs a compression of internal organs, in the moment in which the pressure is relieved there is an increase in the arterial circulation organ and consequently an increased of oxygen. The increased blood circulation meanwhile promotes the removal of toxins, then eliminated through the skin. The series of 26 postures is drawn so as to isolate individual portions of the body and use this effect on a group of muscles, organs or glands for a few seconds. Using this method to stretch and compress, circulation improves and open areas of the body that were blocked. At the end of 90 minutes we worked the body to 100%, every cell has been revitalized, the column has been reinforced, the systems return to work in optimal condition giving an energized body and a relaxed mind.
The yoga practice does not require you to be flexible already, this is a big mistake. By strengthening the body and the column and moving in all directions, gradually you will acquire flexibility.
