This training is for people who want to learn how to heal themselves so they can learn how to help heal others. By exploring your own asymmetries, injuries and anatomical characteristics through 10 days of yoga, bodywork, & ceremony, you will be educated how to apply and prescribe yoga postures and bodywork to initiate recovery and improve intrinsic mobility patterns.

 

You will learn to feel how the relationships of muscular/fascial patterns shape the physical body and how it moves and breathes by exploring your own anatomical characteristics, asymmetries and injuries through ten days of yoga, bodywork & ceremony.



You will be trained to understand, feel and see anatomy through breath and movement patterns in a whole new way.
You will learn to see how emotions get stuck in the body and work with how the nervous system and breath respond.

 

You will experience the difference between practicing “thinking mode versus feeling mode” and learn effective ways to strengthen your ability to hold attention and discern deeper levels of feeling.

 

Our famous CARESS is the practical foundation of our bodywork philosophy. It is the backbone of all touch techniques and the most profound approach to communicating with the body.

 

How it works is best displayed in how mom or dad soothes their young child with touch, or how a dog and dog-lover communicate through play and petting. The Medicine of the Caress comes through in how it communicates to the receiver that they are perfect as they are, they are worthy of being touched in a way that makes them feel good, and that they are safe, loved, and cared for.

 

Without the Caress as a backbone most forms of bodywork tends toward being mechanistic. With the Caress, the body’s neuro-muscular-fascial-fatty-lymphatic-vascularized sleeve learns how to uptake pleasure and meet it’s own tension in ways that release and process out through the entire body.
As a YogaBodyworker graduate you will be equipped with educational and practical tools that enhance movement and mobility within yourself and clients and to apply touch in a highly skilled way.

 

Daily Outline:

  • Chanting & Ceremony – Singing & Dancing!
  • 2.5 hour yoga practice with Senior Guardian Forrest Yoga Teachers Brian & Jambo
  • Training in MyoFascial Release Bodywork for Scar Tissue, Injuries, Muscular & Joint Pain
  • Anatomy Training in seeing relationships of muscle patterns to common postural & joint dysfunctions
  • Learn to work one-on-one with a student
  • Work deeply on your physical injuries, emotional or spiritual blocks
  • Bond with a like-minded community

This is Jared’s signature open level vinyasa class. Jared McCann Vinyasa classes aim to break attachments, create energy, vitality, and purify both mind and body. Breathing becomes a meditation and is utilized to create space from the inside out. Jared’s class blends many styles of yoga including Ashtanga, Bikram, Iyengar, Forrest, and Dharma yoga. JM Vinyasa bridges gaps in yoga traditions, and creates a practice that is modern, accessible, and allows practitioners to learn from all styles. Every class includes standing postures, hip openers, backbends, forward bends, twists, and inversions. Classes may also include mantra, pranayama, kriya or meditation. All levels are welcome.

This workshop will explain Mula Bandha, Swadisthana Bandha, and Uddiyana Bandha which are energy locks in the pelvis and lower abdomen. Understanding these techniques help to release hamstrings, lower back, and hips, bringing ease into forward folding postures. Jared will also teach a range of inversions and arm balances, and techniques on approaching these poses effectively for any level of practitioner. All levels welcome.

Esak has been practicing and teaching Bikram Yoga for 25 years and currently runs workshops, retreats, and trainings internationally. This is an opportunity to feed your practice with information from one of the most experienced teachers in the hot yoga world. The e84 Intermediate class was designed by Esak to introduce new postures and skills to people who have a foundation in hot yoga. It is a fun and accessible class that does not require any advanced skills.

VINYASA FUNDAMENTALS

This workshop explains Surya Namaskara A, B, and C in detail. The movements in the Sun Salutations encompass many transitions prevalent in Vinyasa Classes. The transitional movements create strength and lightness in the physical body, and are the cornerstone of yoga asana. Understanding these nuances creates a safe and strong foundation for students of vinyasa yoga.

In this two hour workshop we will focus creating lightness in the body through transitions. We will practice jumping through and jumping back in vinyasas as well as some other more challenging arm balance transitions. Find effortless effort in your practice when you learn to use breath and bandhas in and in-between the poses.

FINDING YOUR JOY

Joy is different than happiness, you have the ability to feel joy through the good times and the bad, and joy can be lasting whereas happiness is momentary. In this 2.5 hour workshop we will focus on finding your joy and staying there. We’ll work with the 3 rd chakra (solar plexus) and 6 th Chakra (3 rd eye) using powerful Jupiter and Lakxmi mantras. We will follow the mantra practice with a fun vinyasa highlighting backbends and inversions. The workshop will close with an intention setting gratitude exercise to access optimism.

HIP OPENING

In the workshop we will discuss how daily physical habits and emotional stress can lead to a tight pelvic floor. Furthermore when the pelvis is tight it affects the rest of the body and its flow of energy. The pelvic floor is home to the dormant Shakti energy that awakens Kundalini. It is where the most potent sexual energy dwells and plays a keys role in the bodies overall well Being. We will open with a few meridian stretches to open the channels that connect to the pelvis and its correlating body parts. Interweaving various Beeja mantra and the sounds of the first, second third chakra. Then we will do a hip opening sequence and end with acupressure points that affect the pelvis and the respective meridians.

BACK BENDING

Back bending is one of the key ways to opening up the heart center through a physical practice. The Spine has to open up like water on a rock. Over a long period of time without force but through relaxation.
In this workshop you will be drilled through a series of exercises that will condition the muscles necessary to support the spine in a proper backbend. Abdominals, quadriceps and glutes are all necessary to support the spine safely when bending backwards.
He will start with a warm-up Vinyasa and will transition into conditioning exercises along with long holds to open up the spine and deepen your flexibility.

THE PLEASURE OF BACKBENDS

This session focuses on thoracic mobility and the stability of the body’s most mobile joint- the shoulders. Connect to how stability helps deepen backbend practises to levels of pure pleasure and how thoracic mobility improves breath capacity and the rest of your spine.

THE ART OF INVERSIONS & ARM BALANCING

This workshop shows practitioners how power moves from the core and into the shoulders to support your growth in enjoying inversions and arm balances. You will be informed on the anatomy of core force transference and we will spend time playing ‘clean up’ with these movement patterns so that we are transferring our own core power into the shoulders. This workshop is for all levels as the inversions and arm balances have many progressions which are useful for yourself as well as your students. Expect to have a lot of fun!

THE ART OF LETTING GO

This workshop uses the principles of the previous days teachings to understand how certain breathing patterns in yoga poses and savasana enable practitioners to feel deeply into their own core tension. As we let go of core tension, whoever we are is able to expand. Core tension is the type of tension we have gathered throughout our lives that dictate how stories live inside our body. This workshop is a melting pot of physical and emotional tension and a place of deep restorative rest. You will be doing asana for a mixed level class to help get you deeper into feeling and learn how to let go whilst living.
